The BARLA Chairman Spen Allison has decided that he will not be standing for his current position at the Association’s AGM in June this year when his current tenure comes to an end.

Spen Allison has been the BARLA Chairman for the last eight and half years and has made this announcement so that the whole of the Association is aware of the position surrounding him amid speculation of who will be standing for his position in June.

With over half a century of involvement in the game he will continue within some capacity in the amateur game.

“I feel now is the time to hand over the reins to a new leader who can build on what has been achieved in my time as BARLA Chairman and take our association to new levels.

“I would like to put on record my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has given me their support over the last eight and a half years during my time as BARLA Chairman.

“I do intend to be still involved in the amateur game at some capacity and I will always be at the end of a telephone should anyone want advise on matters relating to our great amateur game.”

Steve Manning
BARLA Media Manager

“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.”  Eleanor Roosevelt
