If you don't mind, please can you delete the incorrect apostrophe in the title?

If it turns out that the aggregate attendance at this round of SL is the lowest on record, how would you interpret that?

You may also be asked why you have left out the Championship.

Sadly, you are mistaken. They are this week. Just look at the dates.

No your mistaken.  There is not a Championship round this week.  It's like saying SL matches on a Friday night are not counted with Sundays rounds but the previous weeks.

So lets say Leeds Rhinos play on a Sunday but there next game is on a Friday.  Does this mean that you would count 2 Leeds crowds into 1 round? Or like usual do you change the tune to try to defend the emabassing attendance figures.

Take a look at Mr Predantic.  Can we change the wording to round an then have a response from you?

Your last comment just shows how desperate you are by trying to divert attention away from the shocking attendance figures.  You can dress it up which ever way you want (Grand national, nice weather, anual international tiddly wink competiotion) the crowds from London and Cas are an embarassment.

Just to be clear, yes as any round could be.  But it was not even the lowest this season.

Round 5 was a 50,207 aggregate (Salford 2.3k, Saints 12.2k, Cas 7.2k, Widnes 5.5k, Hull KR 7.4k, Hudds, 7.6k, Cas 7.8k)

Round 11 had a 55,117 aggregate (Cas 3.2k, London 1.4k, Hull 10.0k, Hull KR 7.6k, Widnes 5.5k, Wigan 12.1k, Leeds 15k)

Just to be clearer, I have been able to access the data and this week (round 11) was the 191st lowest attended round of Super League.

This is based on a match average per round to account for seasons with 12 teams and includes 1999 when some rounds featured teams playing twice.  But it does not account for rearranged fixtures, so if you want actual weekends and not rounds the actual position may be different but only slightly.

There are also still 2 incomplete rounds this year. Leeds v Widnes in round 4 (WCC) only needs an attendance of 8952 to beat this weekend, but Wakey v Leeds in round 8 (snow) will be lower as it needs an attendance of 12,901 which is greater than the Belle Vue capacity.

The lowest ever attendance was for round 20 in 1996 which had an aggregate of 24,099, an average of 4k (Wigan 7.8k, Paris 4k, Wire 4.3k, Oldham 2.3k, Sheffield 3.2k, Workington 2.4k).

For something only featuring current Super League teams, the 5th worst attended was round 19 in 2006 with an aggregate of 30,551 and average of 5.1k (Salford 4.2k, Catalan 4.5k, London 4.1k, Cas 5.4k, Hudds 7.4k, Wakey 4.9k).

Just to be even clearer...could you please provide the top 10 of lowest aggregate when Leeds and Wigan , or preferably the top 4 crowd pullers at any one time, are away from home...am i right in thinking that SL as a sporting competition pulls in less than a 7,000 average , i.e incredibly dire in modern times,  if you take away the top 4 crowd merchants..????

P.s , Both rounds you quote above have SIX home teams, the Super Dooper League has seven at any one time...

Just to be clear, I used the per match average (aggregate divided by matches) to compare rounds with different numbers of matches, in 1999 some even had 10 home games per round because of the midweek fixtures.

Counting just the previous four years from 2009 when we went to 14 teams and franchising, then there have been 16 lower attended rounds than this weekend.  The lowest was round 23 in 2010 with 45,129 aggregate and a 6.5k average (Hull 12.7k, Catalans 7.8k, Hull KR 7.8k, Crusaders 1.5k, Hudds 5.3k, Salford 4.6k, Wakey 5.2k).

There have only been 4 rounds in that time with an average of less than 7k, all were when both Leeds and Wigan were playing away and Crusaders and at least one of Salford or London were at home.  Those were rounds 16 in 2011 (aggregate 46,294 average 6.6k) round 17 in 2010 (aggregate 47,889 average 6.8k) and round 18 in 2011 (aggregate 48,726 average 6.9k).
