Yeh splitting full back n winger so important isn't it . I was talking attacking kicks in final third , especially when you see teams we play against getting results .If in doubt bomb it is never a bad scenario . I like his new directness ball in hand to wonky .

yep totally agree but you can guarantee he'll miss out to coyle when hes fit. as for bombs we should be aiming for stack on every kick, he must have the biggest leap around. the kicks aitken were putting in were almost undefendable at times and the worst you can get is a repeat set so thats the type of game our boys need to be aiming for, or hopefully our board is aiming for russ himself.

Betts today saying he could be three back rowers short for Sunday . Could that impact Lawton I wonder ? If it does we should ask for someone else who's on the sidelines if we need them for our bench second row cover . Phil Joseph was huge for Swinton ? Maybe our Widnes friend will tell us who's where in the pecking order .

Phil Joseph was 18th man in the last game but we have Cahill,Hock,Allen, and Cross injured in the forwards, with the first 3 injured in the Salford game.Ben Davies has hardly played, but with players injured I think Joseph and Davies maybe called into the 19.With Lawton playing well he could be a possibility for Widnes. As for Declan Hulme he is a centre and never a winger.

I really dont understand why we persist with coyle,we knew we needed a killer half in the off season not a half fit player,we now have a useful looking guy in kayle connor who is fit and raring to go,hopefully he will get a shot in the halves

Shaun Briscoe is frustrated not to be playing and wanted to go on dual to Workington. But your club did not want him. That is a surprise as he is a quality player. He must be world class your fullback.

I don't think its that and hats off to the town coach and staff for rejecting him. Town have been playing well of late and I'm guessing the coach doesn't want to drop any of his players who have been working their socks off for the club as that could upset the apple cart so to speak well done town for saying no that's what the DR should be about IMO for cover for injuries and that's it.

We haven't been playing well really Gaz , just patchily and in phases , but we do have a super full back and stand in fullback of the
highest class who are better than Briscoe .

If your fullback is better than Briscoe he should be playing Superleague.May mention to Widnes to sign him but Hanbury has been pure class this year.Carter to Widnes.

brett should be playing super league but the problem is a lot of our players have good full time jobs as well as good wages off town so super league clubs cant afford them. but carter and miller are both better than briscoe who isnt a patch on the player he was at hull

Absolutely . People in the super league ' bubble ' need to realise there are top notch players outside that comp , and many who are comfortable in their environment for a variety of reasons . SL isn't rugby league , although Sky seem to perpetuate that myth a fair bit .

I know this as have watched Championship rugby for many years for Widnes. Some better talent than Superleague and if got a good job like a doctor, teacher etc they stay in the Championship.Briscoe will be gone after his contract this year as got Phelps,Hanbury and Jack Owens available in front of him.Anyway how can you say unless watch Briscoe and has hardly played to judge.

Who says he has to play fullback?  I remember us signing Paul Cook (the Huddersfield/Leeds one) a few years back and he went well at halfback. We could do with a bit of zip at centre...just a thought.

That is exactly what DR shouldn't be for. Carter is an excellent full back and a committed and popular Town player. Why on earth would we drop him so Briscoe can get a few games under his belt. If he was injured then fair enough but touch wood he isn't.

If Briscoe can play half back ( and OK maybe centre then) there may be half a chance.

Yes you never turn good players away but only if they fit in where you need strengthening and improving . I don't think Briscoe is the answer anywhere in our backline personally at this stage of his career , stick to bringing in fresher younger talent if you need it as we have in the last couple of seasons and they've all done well

agree 100%, briscoe was a good player a few years back but he dosent offer anything our boys do. bretts return play and step into the line trumps briscoe everytime.as for playing him in another position, why? hes not a centre and never has been so why fit square pegs into round holes when we have specialist centres out there
