And of course , the bigger picture ... We're a World Cup ground now ... The RFL will be keeping a close eye on developments and want reports .Imagine this with global tv ? That's not criticism , just fact with our importance now concerning the tournament . Hopefully things get sorted sharpish because we live in a wet part of the world !

I'm sorry but this is a very poor decision and it doesn't do anyone any favours.   I know the opposition have to travel here but Keighley is only 2 hours journeytime and this game was called off just after 9am.     It hasn't rained seriously  here since 10.00am and I'm sure that we have had nowhere near the amount of rain that we had before last years derby match.    The forecast is for it to brighten up which it is already doing.    In this age of mobile phones it would not have been difficult to contact Keighley on their way here.

I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimension, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave Hadfield - Independent 25th August 1996.

When do we fit these games in ? Could be into June / July if we're waiting for free weekends when teams are out of cups .

Not been funny Keith, wouldnt like to travel in your car!! think it would take a bit longer than 2 hours for them to get here by bus, but some one has dropped a clanger on this on, the forcast last night even said it was to be dry and bright lastnight, and so far it looks like it is going to be.

The more you think about it the more not less incomprehensible it gets !!!! If you can get that haven game on you can get any game on coz Ian Thorpe could have done some laps that day .

Good idea , get it out the way . I know it's haven next week but you'd rather play it before a cup game than a big league game . League is all that matters this year . And it's even less comfy and convenient for them coming up at night than on a Sunday .

Okay then two and a half hours but the message is still the same.   Contact could be made by mobile phone if the ground wasn't playable say 2 hours before kick-off time.    Didn't we travel to Gateshead last year for it to be called off an hour before kick-off?    And we saw photographic evidence that day is there any today as to the state of the pitch, which is what is being asked on the Keighley forum?

I think by the Operational Rules the game has to be played this week so we are possibly looking at Tuesday or Wednesday evening, so let's hope we don't get any more rain!!!!!!!

Some Keighley fans are suggesting we've deliberately had the game called off for exactly that reason.

keighley seem to have a problem with town stemming from the year they beat us in the final. let them complain.

Baffling lack of forethought. Pitch will be fine by 3 pm and according to weather forecast basking in sunshine. Rain forecast wednesday.

I now what your saying Keith, think if its played mid-week it could back fire in terms of attendance, and turn round time for the players if we get any knocks before Sunday.

Seems that the commissioner was more concerned with KEIGHLEY travelling than getting the match on.

Some Keighley fans heard the match was off whilst on the M6 and they say that the Keighley team coach was also on it's way so again in this age of mobile phones why such an hasty decision?

Its a disgrace. The commissioner hasn't even given the club chance to get the pitch playable. I can hardly remember games being rained off at DP, even before the pitch improvements. Looks like it's midweek then.

Anyone been down to the ground?

Any pictures of the offending "standing water"?

Seems like a shocking decision.
