Every Thursday Val's Bookstall is open on New Gate Market. She has now started selling Rugby League books and all at discount prices too. At present they include "The King Of Brilliance" the biography of James Lomas who played for York between 1913 and 1919, Neil Fox who played during 1976 and 1977 and Maurice Bamford's "Play To Win" in which he writes about his favourite Fifty Rugby League Heroes, including four who played for York.
There is also a good selection of books about the history of the game and three novels, all with a strong Rugby League background (Braver Than All The Rest, One Winter and One Autumn)
Also on sale is Harry Edgar's Rugby League Journal, now no longer available in WH Smith.
All well worth having a look at in the run up to Fathers' Day.

www.geofflee.net for news of my novels, One Winter, One Spring, One Summer, One Autumn and Two Seasons. All are written against a strong Rugby League background, set in South Lancashire and inspired by the old saying about work: "They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller".
