I guess worries that our juniors will be pillaged by the Sharks are unfounded.

It's just been on Twitter that the Reds have snapped up Jordan Davies from Sale

From Eccles apparently. Strong, goal kicking centre.

Seen Sale a few times but not someone I'm familiar with.

Cheers Yanto. He looks a big raw-boned lad with a good skills set. Hopefully Nobby can mould him into a decent player.

Looks like a very good defender. I think it shows the difference between attack in the 2 codes though if those clips the guy put on are supposed to be good attacking plays over there. All I saw was a gay getting tackled without really doing anything special other than step just before the line. He looks to have potential though so it'll be good to see how he goes.

To me he looks like a typical Nobby signing. Big and strong with a good defence and will without doubt improve under Nobby's coaching.

Exactly what I thought. He barely did anything in attack other than carry the ball and get smashed about whilst attempting to fend.

Good hits in defence though. Look forward to seeing how he goes. That's what, three players SL's signed from the Aviva Premiership (all from Sale) in the last 12 months?

I like the look of this guy. It is no secret that our defence out wide right is awful! Brian Noble must have seen this & made it an immediate priority - well done. We concede far too many tries (the stats don't lie in this case). IF Jordan can take to our game, he should add some real steel to our three-quarter line with him and Martin Gleeson at Centre. Other teams have correctly exploited our weakness in the without mercy, but a big tackler could help immensely and make them think again.

Hasn't played many games for Sale this season looking at the stats. Don't think he'll be much of a loss by the looks if it. We'll have to wait and see.

Agreed - that's what Union centres do though - tackle and carry. I guess with unlimited tackles that's what they coach? I think with good coaching, which he should get, it will be a good move. I am really glad we have decided to look to Union for a few new players. The pool is huge - they have big squads and there are so many more teams in Premiership & Championship + Wales/ Scotland. It is so hard to get quality players right now a new approach in addition to players from our own juniors is needed.

Wonder if Sale are as skint as we all think they are or are they making room for a big signing.

More a case of Aviva Premiership clubs carrying massive squads, with 2-3 specialists in each position - hence the large wage bill.

Sale are losing loads of players at the end of the season I believe. According to the fan at work 8-10 are leaving for one reason or another.

We need some good defensive players to give the wing men a chance.

If it was that many players moving in the other direction, the media would describe it as a "flood".

There's nothing in that video that would make me want my club to hand this lad a contract.  Incidentally that's the second youtube "highlights" package of a union player displaying ordinary skills that's been posted on here in the last week or so that's left me scratching my head.

It's also reminded me why I don't watch union.  What a sorry spectacle it is.

Thornley at Wigan? Was that in the last 12 months?
