Sadly, Once a ref - You are correct. I too, have seen many a touch judge influenced by an aggressive or vociferous touchline.

On saturday a very young looking TJ came onto the pitch waving his flag claiming one of our players head butted a Siddal player. Everyone seemed a bit bemused (both players and supporters) as nothing seemed to have happened... after a lengthy chat with the ref our player was sent off. Video evidence of the incident showed no head butt had occurred.

Head butts are usually followed by loud spectator noises and or brawls, the ref should have explained to the young TJ that him being the only person to see the offence was highly unlikely.
