Ok this is the preview thread for the May photo competition. The subject, as chosen by my good self is RED.

It can be the colour the word, politics a feeling or whatever, BUT if its abstract then either give it a suitable title or just post an explination if it isn't obvious.

gingerjon can still post in mono as long as its obviously about RED.  ;)

Get clicking and enjoy, usual rules apply.

Something a bit different. :)  If Gingerjon is an appropriate username, then I'll be expecting a self portrait. ;)

Now then, it's a race between Sandie....and Fairburn....and the little man is in........yeees he's in.

I, just like those Castleford supporters felt that the ball should have gone to David Plange but he put the bit betwen his teeth...and it was a try

Kevin Ward - best player I have ever seen

The real Mick Gledhill is what you see on here, a Bradford fan ........, but deep down knows that Bradford are just not good enough to challenge the likes of Leeds & St Helens.

missed a fantastic blood red sunset over wigan tonight :(

I look around
I search the skies
I shade my eyes
So nearly blind
And I see signs of half remembered days
I hear bells that chime in strange familiar ways
I recognise...
The hope you kindle in your eyes

I think your first one is more in keeping with the theme - both great shots though

I'll add that as a 3rd. I've found it quite a difficult topic to find something suitable to shoot, there's little that's red that has caught my eye. I'll be posting one shortly, but imo it's not up to the standard of yours, certainly in regards of the theme.

It doesn't have to be red in the colour is in the shot, it can be politicaly red, angry red, I'm sor of hoping with it being magic weekend we may see plenty of red!!!!

Accepted there doesn't have to be colour behind it, just in the thought, but it does have to be something that can be identified, which if I can't see it, no-one else will!

Anyway, here's an effort from my trip out to Harlow Carr today. If I get anymore inspiration over the next few days I'll consider it as an alternative though!
