The BBC website page for the Super League Show Episode 12 is currently promoting highlights of "Salford v Castleforde".

It must be that second french team for the Super League everyone's been talking about....

The death of the subeditor in print and online press continues. Dimwit management as ever, running things they don't understand. Love the fact that where I work every senior manager has come up from the shopfloor, makes such a difference.

Predictions for the future -
Crusaders RL to get a franchise for 2012 onwards -WRONG
Widnes Vikings also to get a franchise - RIGHT
Crusaders RL to do the double over Widnes and finish five places ahead of them -WRONG
Widnes Vikings NOT to dominate rugby league in years to come! STILL TO COME

I promise to pay 10 to the charity of Bomb Jacks choice if Widnes Millionaires finish above the battling underdogs Crusaders RL. I OWE A TENNER!

Skysports.com recently ran a story where "Gareth Whiddop" and "Ben Burgess" were mentioned as two of England's NRL-based players.

Edit: I've just located it.

Sounds delightfully medieval.

We may bag the Beeb for, what has to be called ignorance, but how many times do we hear match announcers on grounds mispronouncing the names of international players? There's no excuse, even if the guy is French, Australian, NZ or whatever. How difficult is it to go to one of the coaches or officials of the team concerned and ask? A bloke I used to work with had it almost as a catchphrase, "There are no professionals any more", he used to say; he was spot on!
