Even that would have been an unknown at the time they did their budget, some of it is just luck of the draw in the cups. The fact that we have the Challenge Cup this week followed by the NRC next week hasn't helped due to Barrow being out of the CC and being drawn away in the NRC - with different luck you could well have been looking at 2 home cup ties.

Obviously, they get half the Cup tie gate whether home or away.

Yes but often several weeks later despite the home club being meant to pay it within 7 days.

They should be taking a substantial proportion of the final sum with them on the day.

Whilst we always look for reasons and people to blame, unfortunately times are hard. Sponsors are less forthcoming - people have less disposable income. 

 

Good luck to Barrow, hope they pull through and go on to grow stronger.

Yep - most of clubs' current problems are down to the depression we're living in at the moment.
