Agree with all that - very, very poor yesterday apart from Scott, Briscoe & maybe 2 others - time for

some players to take some responsibility & look closely at the effort they are supposedly putting in.

Not panicing yet, but getting close.....

One more thought - if Kris Brining is fit, he is one of the 1st names in the 17 no matter who/what/when is available,

simple as that for me.

Not the result we wanted today, but look on the bright side,we can now concentrate on the most important, staying in this league no distractions now.

There is always a bright side. Let's face it, York still haven't fielded their strongest team and DR has been a problem. Half way through the season now (except for a postponement v Donny) maybe we can do a Rhinos and turn the gas on at this point to take the season! !

Alright... it was only some bright side...

Well it's another poor performance, lets hope we get back to winning form soon. On positive side we can concentrate on the league now and hopefully get most of our players back from injury to see us through to the end of the season.

Heard rumours that Hull are chasing him.

I think it is time G Thornton started to tell Hull ,if players are not willing to put the effort in then we should not be taken them  on just to keep them match fit, because at the moment the only benefit is to Hull and not to the Knights.

I think it's more who hull have for him than him being able to choose who he wants.

He has no say on who Hull make available, but GT is the one that picks the team, no one else.

Saw the dvd yesterday of Tuffour's try on Sunday, hope Hull FC coach Peter Gentle gets to see

it as Jamie Shaul's effort was embarrassing & Jason Crookes effort was even worse, should not be

picked for either team based on that incident alone....

It would seem very evident that some Knights players are being passed over to accomadate the DR players which surely undermines the efforts of the Knights contracted players, can't see that been of benefit to the cause.

That is not happening. Gary Thornton picks what he thinks is the strongest team, regardless of weather they're DR or not.

By all means pick the strongest team, with all 17 players singing off the same hymn sheet giving everything for the knights cause.I"m afraid theres one or two (its there for all to see) who just don't give a monkeys.Suppose when you"ve just signed a 2 year deal with your  club, your in the comfort zone. One or two things happened out there in the Donny game that for me were unforgiveable. For me its upto Peter Gentle and GT to sit down and thrash this dual reg thing out because its blatantly obvious that certain players are not prepared to give there all.

Totally agree that GT should be picking his strongest available team,he's the one that see's them in training each week.wether they are DR or not,but on that showing on Sunday the DR players were found wanting.

As I see it, the problem with our DR 'candidates' is no different to anyone else's.
The coach selecting the team has no crystal ball to tell him whether he will get 100% from a particular player on match day or whether said player will adopt a Big Time Charlie attitude and simply go through the motions.
Given a couple of matches it then becomes transparent.
Ask yourself a question - if you were a second row on the verge of being selected for a Super League side, would you go hammer and tongs for a side you are basically guesting for and risk injury that might rule you out of a big breakthrough at the highest level ? Food for thought...
Does five tries in 2 first team games alter a player's mindset? Honest answer - more than likely !
Put yourself in the coaches shoes - Hull offer you their young prop Wilson for next week. Do you select him ?
Come on, Mark Aston's not daft, listen when he talks about DR... Ask another question -how do the Eagles attract, and then keep, players of the quality of Togagae, Yere and Taulapapa ? How is it done ? Could the Knights do it ?
I'd worry less about DR and start chasing one or two players who may well commit to the cause - a certain young back row forward comes to mind, who is currently playing very well just down the road..

At the start of the season, we were under the impression we'd have the services of Paul King, Matt Nicholson, Clark Thompson, Russ Dale, Chris Green, Josh Bowden, Adam Sullivan & Jack Aldous to choose from in the front row. We ended up with Stenchion, Aldous & Potter last week. There lies the major problem.
