Sea Eagles: Peta Hiku, Jorge Taufua, Jamie Lyon, Steve Matai, David Williams, Kieran Foran, Daly Cherry-Evans, Brenton Lawrence, Matt Ballin, Brent Kite, Anthony Watmough, Justin Horo, Glenn Stewart. Interchange: David Gower, Tom Symonds, Jamie Buhrer, George Rose

Storm team news:

Storm forward Ryan Hinchcliffe returns from a knee injury to take his spot in the Melbourne pack, while Maurice Blair wins a start in the centres.
Will Chambers and Slade Griffin drop out of the Storm squad, with Tohu Harris starting on the bench to make way for Hinchcliffe.

Sea Eagles news:
Manly forward Tom Symonds had been battling a quad injury but he's been passed fit to play, so Manly will be 1-17.

They are without Brett Stewart. Replacement Peta Hiku has been reported as sayiong he already hates Storm despite not having played them.

Can Melbourne get back to winning ways after recent defeats by Raiders and Panthers?

Manly on back of another penalty get a Lyon try in the corner.
Melbourne in their own end. Manly had 5 sets in first 6 minutes. Converted from out wide. 8-0 to Manly.

Not many highlights in the first half. Storm look still in the same mode as last couple of weeks. Manly have edge. Storm struggling for form. Manly completion rate good.

Maybe this game was an on field working through of recent Storm problems as they improved the longer the game went on. By the end it looked like Storm were the more likely to win in golden point.

While I understand the referee is the sole judge of time (does he ever countermand the full time  hooter?) I couldn't see the logic when he raised his arms to stop time  at almost the end of the first half of extra time when Storm quickly formed the scrum. He then changed his mind, over-ruled himself and blew time when the hooter sounded a second or two later.

Strange one that - he appeared to call time off before the hooter went. The draw was probably the fairest result though. I don't think I've seen a team have so much possession as the Storm did in that second half and yet come up with so little. Great defence from Manly, but the Storm weren't looking crash hot in attack.

Looking to Billy, Cam and Coops to make the breaks for themselves or others and they aren't coming, at least not as often as in the past.

As you said though Manly's defence was rock solid for large parts of the game.

Looking at various replays it looked like the ref(s) had got it wrong a few times, eg when it was ruled George Rose had been stripped of the ball under the sticks when replay showed he just lost it in the tackle. Overall though I reckon those balanced out between the two sides. I'd have preferred to see Will Chambers on the field rather than Justin O'Neil. His defence is stronger and he offers more in attack.

How did your nerves hold out Bourbon Rat? It must have been heart in mouth jobs at times. At least it didn't rain on you in the end.

If only one of our drop goals had gone over eh?

Always been impressed with Will Chambers - a very underrated player. Shame when he went to RU for a couple of years. Storm always look better for his presence.

Maybe Bourbon Rat can tell us if he was injured or 'rested'.

Chambers - Hammy tightened during training but should be back for rnd 11 ?

The game ? Only Manly's ad hoc attack options & sloppy ball control took it to a draw.

Shambolic & distracted team play from Melbourne,(Widdop appears to have slipped into the Soward slippers already ?)

God help 'em come the SoO season :elf:

Good news on Chambers. I know there wasn't much going on attacking wise for the Storm, but Widdop looked especially useless. It's gonna be a big test of his abilities come Origin time. But not half as big as the one he'll face at the Dragons next year.

To be honest though, they all look like they need a couple of weeks off. Playing an Origin series looks to be about the last thing Smith, Cronk and Slater want to be doing.
