A simple rugby topic - most teams are at the half way stage of the season and for us clubs battling in the bottom 9 it should be very interesting.

Based on all the remaining fixtures for the current bottom 9 teams and on the following assumptions (I stress assumptions not predictions)

  • none of the current 9 to gain any points (bonus or win) against any of the current top 5 home or away
  • all of the bottom 9 to win against other bottom 9 teams when at home
  • all of the bottom 9 to get just a bonus point against other bottom 9 teams when away

I arrive at the final league places -

 6th       Whitehaven     38pts

 7th       Workington      36pts

 8th       Dewsbury        36pts

 9th       York                34pts

10th      Doncaster       33pts

11th      Keighley          31pts

12th      Swinton           30pts

13th      Barrow            28pts

14th      Hunslet           27pts

Almost certainly all of the above assumptions will not materialise but should be interesting as well as tough.

about £10m to build the stadium & £62m in bribes to the planning department at Salford City Council, yeah, should just about be enough

I like your work. Does certainly make for interesting reading, and to be honest, id take that right now. Certainly think that we need to go back to the drawing board next year, hopefully it will be in this league!!!

Im only smiling because `no-one`'s found the bodies yet.
