Interesting that we always take about the standard of Origin but that is a pretty ordinary team. How many of those NSW players would get a place in the England 17? Lewis, Gallen, Bird and Morris in the centres maybe. Hayne (maybe not fullback) and Farah outsiders but I am pretty happy with that England 17 TBH.

Do we get to see this on Sky this year or has it already passed to Premier TV? (In which case I can't see it at all :rtfm: )

Believe what you see, don't see what you believe.

I've said for a while the only big difference between England and Aus is Smith Cronk and Thurston and the way Slater is utilised by them.

If we had Smith Cronk and Thurston at 6 7 and 9 and Tomkins was utilised as well as Slater is we'd beat Australia.

Bad news - It's on Premier.

Just on the team, does anyone know how Kurt Gidley always manages to get named in rep squads. He even made it into the Aussie team in April. I genuinely don't see why he gets picked all the time.

barrowraiderskid, and if we took Sam Burgess, Tomkins and Hall from England, you would have practically no one of international repute whatsoever.

We can all dream.

Don't forget to take Graham, Westwood, Ellis, Crabtree out as they've all performed against the Aussies. Then G Burgess and Widdop don't get rated at all by the Aussies who they play for week in week out. I'm sure Watkins and Charnley/Briscoe will be awful against the Aussies also as they are supermen. Why are Hock/Mossop attracting interest from Aus.

We could of beat them at Wembley if a couple of decisons went our way. Take away their three best players and they are so much weaker without them.

NSW are idiots. They dropped Carney to change their halves (again!), are playing Gallen out of position, and have that useless Gidley on the bench.

There will be no other outcome but a comprehensive series win for Qld. NSW have killed their chances before a all is kicked

barrowraiderskid, I'll give you Graham out of that bunch, but the rest are not a concern to this date.

It's strange that the game at Wembley is brought up enough. A game that we won by a comfortable margin in, after losing our fullback in the first 10 minutes. Then with a 17 man team, it was the usual thrashing in the game that really counted in the final.

goldcoaster, I would've gone with Carney too, but dont't necessarily have a problem with Gallen at prop. Grant on the bench for Gidley would make a lot more sense for rotation. The only way Gidley will be useful is in the event of injury or if he plays backrow which is unlikely.

I've got a lot of faith in this team, it's better than last year's and I think they'll prove that.

QLD have a very settled team and they will win the series, but I feel like maybe they'd be better introducing some fresh faces into the side.

Who for who though? A lot of that starting team are in the Australian team. They're making forced changes as needed, with Te'o and McQueen debuting, otherwise why mess with 7 in a row? I expect Papalii to make his debut this series as well and I'm really not looking forward to that.
