The Prime Minister has announced that he will be taking a salary of £142,500.

Broadly equivalent to the salary a Tesco regional manager takes home.
Cheer up, RL is actually rather good

Just to be clear, that is only how much David Cameron personally is claiming, not the Prime Minister's salary. But it is easy to turn down part of you pay cheque when you are already a millionaire.

For clarity; multi-millionaire, with a multi-millionairess wife.

Do the RFL also pay bonuses?

I reckon Steve Ganson deserves one.

Nigel Woods,(RFL Chief Executive) His salary is reportedly £204,000 per annum

How can the RFL justify that salary.

Reported where?

If you look at the staff, responsibility, budget, clubs in financial difficulty, impossible stakeholder expectations, lack of fan support and all other difficulty factors, £200k is a genuine bargain these days.  A law firm partner at the top firms in London with no more than 2-3 staff reporting to him/her can easily earn over £1m.  Many investment bankers, even 2-3 tiers down from the big names, would treat a £200k bonus as a massive insult.  Most IT directors in London earn more than that.  I could go on.

For those questioning the salary, what do you think is a fair salary and show us how you'd persuade someone with the skills required to take on the job at that salary?

Arguing with the forum trolls is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good you are, the bird will **** on the board and strut around like it won anyway

Are you sure it's not 204,000lbs?

Ho bloody ho. Nigel could lose weight but you'd still be daft!

Was he elected to this position?

You sound proud of that. If I were you I wouldn't even claim a salary, totally undemocratic.

You can spot the Yorkshire folk on here can't you.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Because he is currently heading a sports governing body.

It's a long time ago and my memory might be failing me but wasn't be on the board at Halifax when they got into financial difficulty. Didn't he move from that situation to be Head of Finance for the RFL?
