If that's the case Abu what's the point of having two head coaches??
I don't think anything has gone wrong, we are in a scrap for survival in this league and while we think we should be winning these games the opposition will target them as winnable games too. A bit of better game management 3 points would have been in the bag and nobody would be over reacting. On our last play we are in their 20 and we don't kick the ball dead. They then make yards off the return and get a repeat set and then score on the hooter to win the game. If the ball goes dead we kill as much time as possible, set our defence and the game is ours. Just a stupid play and the injuries IMO was the difference between the teams. Having said that if Forber had kicked at goal as well as Sanderson it would have been at least a draw, also our line speed was poor and we allowed Cooke to play in space yet again. They ran the same diagonal play over and over and it caused us all sorts of problems.
But we have lots of injuries and miss the players who are out and losing Hulme yesterday caused problems with only forwards on the bench.
I'm sure the lads will sort it out for Thursday.
The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!

How long did Hulme and Lawton play?Hope Hulme is ok as Ashame if injured.I agree about Lawton he needs more aggression but I hope after time will develop this attribute.

The shape of the team was all wrong , some by choice and some bad luck.

Forber played well last week but all his deficiencies were shown up yesterday, Lupton at 13 didn't work cos he's our most creative player but wasn't in the game at all and with Connor and Morris out we had Hulme in who got injured in the first 5 minutes and we've seen before that great player that Olstrum is no way is he a centre, it's a specialist position especially in defence.

Cooke did us again, a couple of things he does every time makes the difference.

Excellent post homeandawayer . We must return to the Lupton / Olstrum 6 & 13 axis , and Forber has a good game between to many average ones I'm afraid . His in play kicking game , distribution and game management are to inconsistent . Callum's a live wire but the poor kid just looked lost with far to much on his shoulders yesterday . He's not a string puller he's an individual whizz - he must have Peter next door . Look at the Donny blueprint . Injuries are unfortunate but they also show up inflexibilities on the bench and to rigid game plans ...we should have seen out that game but to often we're talking of our lack of smarts out on the paddock I'm afraid . Feel sorry for Matty , Stacky n Thacks in particular I thought they gave everything to win it on their own .

To be fair most of us clamoured for Forber to keep his place him and Callum worked well against Hunslet but Doncaster offered a different challenge and we probably needed Lupton at 6 but hindsight a a wonderful thing

exactly, i think there was only davidm who said go back to lupton. you have to play your in form players and against hunslet forber was really good. we need lupton to control our game and from 13 he cant do that.what i dont think many of us didnt take into consideration was the weakened side that hunslet put out.

If it ain't broke ... We were on a good run .They were a bit blinkered by that one game , and rewarded Forber on that , but squad sports aren't fair ,you pick your strongest team and when we're healthy in the halves Forber isn't in that for me . It's a game of opinions .I always liked the look of Callum n Peter on paper and Peters been to influential to shift . Hey ho , it's gone now . It's how you come back . We can make up this ground on Thursday ... Will we ? Lets see .

Indeed . Goes for The beast from the south east and big Brett to . Even big Red to , he'd have matched Waterman for muscle and held him . But goes for all teams I guess . We're getting into injury time in the season aren't we , and the teams who handle it best will survive . DR is gonna be huge in this league till September. Teams who stay healthy and stay topped up with strength from outside hold the aces . Principles take a back seat I'm afraid . With a short turn around and coming off a pretty poor and tired performance , would they really shake them up and go big on DR on Thursday to pull back this result ?
Interesting to see what's on offer

Not much I'm afraid, Widnes as of yesterday (out of a squad of 30) had 8 players unavailable due to either injury, suspension or loan deal. Of the players available (excluding the 17 needed for their own game), Lawton was the only forward, plus Declan Hulme (now injured), Shaun Briscoe (FB), Danny Craven (FB/SO) and Grant Gore (SO/SH). I can't see them loaning any other player(s) for our thursday night game, with their own important match against Catalan due in only three days time. Lets hope that some of the Widnes injured players are available for Sunday or it may be (to ensure a fit group of nineteen) that only two players will be available for DR (on Thursday), and possibly not the only spare forward.

Gutted for the lad and with his first start as a centre too.At the moment we have a terrible amount of injuries and also Hock suspended.

I watched the Widnes v Salford game off tape when I got in yesterday and boy what a miss Adam Walne is . He's looks destined for pretty big things . Jordan is a fine prospect in his own right but Adam , with his physique , strength , skills n speed is the finished article and can play anywhere in the pack .Shame for us he left , he is all impact ,love to see him n Acton together !! I thought he was an xfactor for us .Good move for him though .Hope he keeps doing well , able to make the top.Talented family , Jordan has good assets and a great attitude - did you notice when he dropped the ball the first thing he did was smash the bloke who picked it up with a great hit !
Hope he hangs around he's only getting better , gives real starch to a defence doesn't he ?

exactly, i for one dont want charlo and oggy to leave but getting someone to help is never a bad idea and im sure they have a good relationship with paul working with him for cumbria and a lot of the players will know him.

just remember how bad you were under rotherham, charlo oggy and barker done a great job

What happend today we should be beaten teams around us at home like

Nothings gone wrong Fester, we just lost a game to a team who were a bit better than us on the day, let's stop all this doom and gloom, we haven't become a bad team overnight.
