There's talk that Eels are looking at their options and that one option is to move some (or all?) of their home games from Parramatta Stadium to the huge ANZ Stadium

I hope not.

I'm a firm believer in clubs being a part of their living and breathing communities.

I can't be doing with seeing NRL crowds even as big as 20.000+ looking lost and with no atmosphere in an 80,000 seater (or whatever it is) stadium.

The fact that other clubs already share the venue for me makes it even worse.

Mindst you the judgement of those  running Eels seems to be a bit haywire at the moment.

Can't see it helps team morale and spirit to tell half your current playing squad they arebeing got rid of at the end of the season.

I can't believe the Eels board is serious. Due to being a poor side at the moment their crowds are poor and I'm not expecting any big turnaround in their fortunes next season either

I guess that explains why Chnl 9's mumbling head group were at pains to keep talking up how good the crowds always are at Parra stadium :download: during the Friday game

This appears to be based around them building up their membership base to 20,000. I think I'm right in saying that membership numbers doesnt necessarily relate to crowd figures though? You can be a member but never go to a match (happy to be corrected on that). Souths have 25,000 members, but don't always get those figures to matches. Parra should focus on building up the team on the field, and when the crowds outgrow Parra Stadium, then look at moving matches to the ANZ.
