Dewsbury Rams are delighted to be able to confirm the details of the games which will soon be hosted at the Tetley’s Stadium as a part of the Festival of World Cups.
The action starts at 4pm on Friday 5th July when New Zealand take on France in the opening game of the Women’s competition. That’s followed at 6pm when England make their start against competition favourites Australia. The day concludes with an 8.00pm kick off for the opening of the Police World Cup which sees Great Britain take on their old advisories Australia.
Just five days later the focus switches to the Student World Cup with Scotland taking on New Zealand with a 6pm start before Australia face Russia at 8pm.
Finally, two days later, the Student competition nears its climax with a game between the two teams that have finished in fourth place in their respective groups at 6pm before the Semi-Final game to find one of the finalists starts at 8pm.
Admission is just £4 per evening for adults and £1 for children under 16 with payment on the day via the main stand turnstiles. With activities planned around the games and with each game having RFL international status it should be a real feast of rugby and one not to be missed.
Rams’ Chairman Mark Sawyer urged rugby league fans not to miss out on these games “This is a new and exciting opportunity to see different international teams competing for the ultimate prize at their level. There will be some household names in there as well as some stars of the future and of the women’s game. At only £4 for adults for up to three games it is affordable to everyone and it gives us the opportunity to put rugby league in the spotlight ahead of this autumn’s main event.”
