I don't like Tetleys - even when it was meant to be good. But it isn't quite as bad as you are making out.

I always thought the rhyming slang for Tetleys was "nothing shi**er".

I managed to finish the box of 123 off over the weekend.

How many were in the box at the start..124?

Impressive going.

Noticed that one of the union lions sponsors are First Cape Wines.
They ain't exactly top end of the market and could be viewed as the Tetleys of the wine world. They are also targetting the lower alcohol range of wines.

Like I said its passable
Tinned tetleys and ersatz tetleys are passable right enough but in a whole different way

it isn't even proper tetleys any more, and their tinned beer was ghastly anyway.

I aint buying #### just because it says rugby league on it

Neither am I. I haven't touched Tetleys since they closed the Leeds brewery on principle.  I don't care if it tastes the same or not. (I'm told it doesn't) I won't drink it.

I saw it in The Cellar Bar at Batley station (on the ale trail) last Friday when I went to watch the England - Exiles game. TBH it was only when I saw it there I realised it was cider - I thought it was a printers or publishing company.

Got some in Asda a few weeks back for the wife, and saw some in a pub in the next village up from Culcheth, Warrington when we were there for the Exiles weekend. Though I might have imagined that one after 123 cans of Tetleys!!

Nice apparently. Didn't get to sample it myself. List time I drank cider, i was still at school. Though I think it's come on a bit since then.

I love cider. Problem is I drink a pint in about 10 seconds.

School or the cider?

Got to be cider. According to the papers, school has gone backwards since my day. Apparently back then, we had to earn out qualifications, whereas my kids just get given there's for turning up, every now and then.

Timothy Taylors used to have a huge advert on the roof of the main stand at Lawkholme Lane, errr Cougar park. That's a good enough excuse for me to drink one of Btitain's premier brews.

Flatcappers in "no never, been there once, never going again" shocker

One day we may get what you consider to be the better products endorsing RL, until then lets be happy (urgh that awful word that might involve smiling) that we have some exposure. If you don't like the product itself fair enough, I don't like it either, or any bitter/mild, but I'd promote it to those that do. I might even be naughty and move it to the front on shelves - like moving RL mags in front on RU ones

You can call me a fervent traditionalist if you like. I don't care.  Tetleys was brewed in Leeds.  It got its reputation because of something that happened in the Leeds brewery.  Carlsberg closed the Leeds brewery and are now  treating it as a "brand" not a "product"  I don't buy "brands" if I can avoid it, I buy products that I enjoy.
