driving over to bradford on sunday i passed a truck emblazoned with a picture of ben black and promoting batley bulldogs, is this unique or are other championship clubs signed up to this type of advertising.

Seen one on the M60 when going to the Magic Weekend, a mate who lives in Oldham reckons it's a local trucking company that sponsors Batley, says you see then quite often on the M60/M62

so what? What is the objective? How much?  How many trucks?  How much per eyeball?  How will the effect  be measured?  Unless we, or they , know this, it sounds more like a( gift aid?)  donation to me.

What's your point exactly ? Why are you trying to turn it into something that it isn't ? It is simply a case of an existing club sponsor doing something extra for the club, at no cost to the club and in a way that doesn't impinge on the existing cash sponsorship deal. The club have lost no income, not lost out on other potential opportunities, so how you can compare it to the Stobart deal is beyond me.

That's not really fair. It's about awareness. The fact is you never, ever know how well your advertising has done really. How many people would have come if you'd dropped your gate price by £1? How many have come because they saw the advert ? Who knows ?

You just have to go with your gut feeling.

I suspect John's not trying to turn it into anything, rather mimicking the thinkhards on here who automatically question anything the RFL does.

Anyway, well done Batley.

Exactly. Its a great way, in Batleys case,  of justifying a donation to the club.  If "awareness" is the issue, then the RFL's approach was just as valid but as usual the RFL naysayers on here let rip with a vengeance. Hypocrisy, I think is is called.

Of course, in the case of a professional organisation like the RFL and  Stobart, you wouldn't expect them to run a programme without some measure, whereas Batley are probably just happy to receive some money..and good for them.

no you haven't it just shows that the best those two could come up with is inferior to what batley came up with, a similar idea but linked to actual cash sponsorship............
