Seems we get a number of threads that are hijacked into discussions about Agecroft.

Sometimes, it doesn't matter what's been discussed and someone comes along and says ' but what about Agecroft?'. (Not exactly in them words but you get my point!)

So all Agecroft talk now has it's own pinned thread.

If there any major developments (e.g. planning permission is submitted, evidence of building work taking place onsite etc.) can have its own thread.

Has this ground to a standstill or are the club going to inform us where we stand?

Very worrying state of affairs, or so it would seem. Typical, as usual, left totally in the dark until the 'annual update' each September.

I think the Agecroft project is just somebody's fantasy, unless you find a major investor who really cares about the club. You really need the backing of Salford City council and they are only interested in the club that owes them a load of cash. When I was watching Celtic Crusaders, rumours started that the  club was in financial trouble and that they would be moving here there and everywhere. Fans wanted answers, so the chief exec invited a dozen fans to a meeting. They went along with all these ideas about the searching questions they were going to ask him to put him on the spot. As soon as they got there he pulled out the plans to a shiny new purpose built stadium that was going to be built on the outskirts of Bridgend, and assured them they only had a temporary cash flow problem. That was it - they were in all in the palm of his hand. They were  all coming on the forums assuring other supporters that everything was ok. A year later they moved to Wrexham and a year after that they folded altogether.

Take what you hear from club officials with a "pinch of salt". I really hope Swinton get your new stadium nearer home, but I can't see it happening. In fact, if I had the finances to do it (won the lottery) I would, but I would probably ask if the club would be prepared to move into where Eccles ARLFC currently play and I would develop that to Championship standard. Just another dream - I know!

Has anyone heard anymore on Agecroft? If not where will we be playing next season?

Okay then, in the absence of official announcements, lets run with the rumours and discuss them.

Assuming we as fans are being "open and transparent".

I heard one very disturbing 'rumour' the other day which was 'vaguely confirmed' by 'someone in the know' today.

Dare say all will be revealed if and when we get our customary end of season report from the club.

And I understand I'm not the only one (or two) who has discovered the current reality about Stadium Agecroft (after more than two decades in the wilderness)

Would YOU care to comment PhillH?

What have we 'heared'?

Us fans are as bad as the club when it comes to giving info and details.

Why say you`ve heard a rumour and then not tell us what it is?

That behaviour smacks of "the dingo stole my baby"...is Mr Blue Monkey more Australian than he realises?

Im joking by the way....   :onthequiet:

I heard that they mowed the grass down there, but not sure if it's true.

Now we have started ;)

I heard we do not have enough money to buy the lawn mower to mow the grass so I doubt that is true. Salford council would not risk funding the cost of a lawn mower for a Rugby team.

Or maybe the lawn mower has been taken to a different location?

Not enough grass for the lawn mower so another location sought with more grass but unfortunately the grass is isn't green!

I enjoy this game. Maybe the lawn mower will be needed elsewhere.

My garden back in swinton needs cutting but it won't hold enough fans. Where could it be going...
