Barring an inspired Lamont Bryan and Andy Ellis spell on the pitch and a brainfart by gareth moore not a lot between the two sides today

will have to play a lot better than that against fax on thurs, hopefully slightly cooler evening temperatures will help

TBH I wondered what the ref was going to penalise Fev for next. Handball perhaps?

I didn't think he'd too bad a game to be honest!

There were two that I remember, but they weren't play the ball offsides. There was one were Batley knocked on and a guy in front picked the ball up. And one in the second half where Batley kicked toward Sharp on the 6 th and they we re pinged in the corner.

Thought Merrick had a decent game today. And that's coming from a losing supporter. Only mistake was missing what looked like a knock-on from Greenwood in the second half??

I reckon most RL fans would benefit from going to watch a local derby between two clubs other than the one they support. Stand with one set of fans first half & with the other set 2nd half, and wonder at how both sets vehemently and persistently moan about how much the ref is favouring the other team.

When you have the facility to watch television replays of games that you've attended in the flesh, its remarkable how many refereeing decisions that made you scream blue murder from the terraces actually turn out to be correct. I held a bitter hatred of Workington whistle-blower Peter Gilmour for years after he screwed us out of promotion in 1994 by red-carding Jeff Grayshon for defending himself from a collision. Last year I was able to watch that game for the first time on DVD, and was was a little red-faced to witness that the (horrifiying) collision was actually between Brendan Carlyle's jaw and Jeff's flying elbow.

How they played Rugby in that heat both sides need a big pat on the back I was glad of the points in the end thought Batley deserved a draw.
