Don't ask me where the number 2 has come from this morning but was watching Cannon and Ball last night and enjoyed a sketch - Shock Horror!

In England it seems that it's the Two Ronnies and Morecambe and Wise and all the rest follow below. Is this true?

Speaking of the above acts I believe M and W have more classic sketches whilst T R's are the more consistent.

Your thoughts?

Who were pants, who were your faves?

M&W were more consistent but two TR sketches stick out as all time classics:

Four Candles (obviously)

The one with two blokes having separte conversations on public pay phones

Ronnie Barker wrote many sketches and submitted them under his real name, which only came to light much later. The wordplay of the Two Ronnies could be unbelievably rapid-fire and clever, while Morecambe & Wise had their own more oddball magic.

And I thought Armstrong & Millers homage to them was also very good.

Don't know if they were. The two Ronnies always had a comedy series amongst their sketches. Phantom Raspberry Blower for example.

A number 2 and Cannon and Ball in the same sentence.

Sounds about right.
