Record number of teenagers in SL ?

I think it has been great seeing so many young players in SL, i can't remember a year when so many have come through and plenty of them have looked the goods.

And most came through the U15/U16 scholarship U18/U20 academy system abandoned by super league after last system as a cost cutting measure.

It's a bit worrying that all these players are playing so soon IMO. Tom Burgess played 50 SL games and then went to Australia and coaches from Souths said he was far from the full finished article and hence put him in the Toyota Cup. I don't think it helps a lot of players development playing so soon.

Where else are they going to play? We have seen the arguments and issues dual-registration causes and have no viable equal to the Aussie lower grades.

Rugby Union - RL youth development in this country is a shambles.

Stops him from playing though doesn't it? Just had a look at the broncos player profiles and it says he's yet to make his super league debut and didn't play yesterday against Catalan. Hence "I thought he was injured."

Spot on there. I think it's called killing the golden goose. There won't be so many kids produced in future as the opportunities won't be there and RU cold well be the winner for that.

Brad Dwyer is a Wolf not a Giant. Just on loan - now we've signed Kyle Wood on loan Brad is back at Warrington.
