That's not the rule. That is only after the tackle is complete.

Pretty much every tackle in the NRL has hands on the ball.

Fair enough Dave but if we can go to the VR for things other than a try maybe we need to do so for lost ball/ ball steal as it makes the game look amateurish when it's obvious to the TV viewer what's gone on.

I think the problem is though that things like that are subjective. Personally if I was the Hudds players coach I'd be pretty pee'd off as he let go when there were hands in as he expected a penalty. There is a valid argument for a loose carry. It is actually legal to have hands on the ball.

Come back on!

edit - that's not the case as even if there was separation it was backwards and then he got fingers on it.

I say it time and again, should we really be playing with a fullback who simply can't tackle?

It looks like he is now injured.

A great break from Hodgson but an even better finish from Monaghan. Didn't realise his try scoring record was quite so good!

Phew - relieved that we got one before half time as they'd really muscled their way back into it, fair play!

Some beautiful offloads from Wire particularly in this first half. Some great tries and attacking play this 40.

Typical Wire v Giants game so far

NOTHING goes right for Huddersfield in the first 20, then the Giants get to the game with too much to do :(

Few decisions that could be classed as 50/50's going our way. Replays showing they are correct decisions, but on another day they could easily have gone to the Giants.

Deserving our luck though tbh.

I'd slightly disagree with that. Twice Warrington have ripped the ball out and twice got away with it; one resulted in a try. The other was the Huddersfield offside decision on their own line. Baffling decision considering the side on angle didn't show any offside; scored too!

That said, Warrignton thoroughly deserve their lead!

I find the BBC camerawork appalling. The close ups at the play the ball are reasonable but then the camera retreats to the back row of the stand. The players are so small that I have difficulty in spotting who has the ball.

If this is an example of BBC coverage of the World Cup it will be a disaster..

Huddersfield need to score the first try in the second half or I can see their heads going down.

One was after I posted this, not sure of the other you are referring to.

The replay wasn't even shown properly so not sure you can say there was no offside. Let's be hionest, teams get away with more offsides than they are pinged for, so I'm pretty sure the ref/linesman hasn't just invented that one.
