I wouldn't quite go that far. This isn't a criticism of Ben Thaler by any stretch.

Did a good job, like most refs do most weekends.

There wasn't a lot of the usual niggly, cheating you see from so many players in SL around the ruck area (ie trying to milk a penalty). Both sides seemed to want to get on with it, and play the game, which always makes it easier for the ref.

He was very good. I always like Thaler.

Thought he allowed a bit too much lying on (especially from Hull, but then I would think that) but, crucially, he was consistent with that, so everyone knew where they stood.

Thaler has very quietly improved over the last 2-3 seasons and is probably the most consistent & best ref at the moment

Thought Thaler was ok.  Almost forgot Roby was allocated to us AGAIN, until he found it necessary to enter the field of play to draw the attention of the referee to Langley's front on shoulder charge.  It surely can't be conincidence that we get him so often.

Yes, a two handed push which Roby saw as a shoulder charge. The man really needs to get himself to Specsavers.

And when they found our shadows
Grouped around the TV sets
They ran down every lead
They repeated every test
They checked out all the data on their lists
And then the alien anthropologists
Admitted they were still perplexed
But on eliminating every other reason
For our sad demise
They logged the only explanation left
This species has amused itself to death
No tears to cry no feelings left
This species has amused itself to death
