Did Stanley ever sort their pitches out?

Carlsberg don't do Soldiers, but if they did, they would probably be Brits.

East Hull 16 - 8 Skirlaugh

Pucko proved to be the difference today

He broke the try stalemate, put in two booming 40/20s and caught Skirlaugh on the hop with a big quickly taken goal line drop out that had the Skirlaugh boys looking behind them and having to chase back to recover the ball. Yep, I think he was the difference between two fairly evenly matched teams on the day.

Agree thought puckering came up with some major contributions didn't do the hard work but kicking was good and scored wen it mattered his input was clinical at times

Siddal 56 Wigan st pats 4....Good win for the Halifax side against an in form pats team,1st half exploded after 20 mins with 1 player from each team being sin binned, sum good rugby played by both teams ,pats then had another player sin binned and 1 red carded just before half time..h t 14-4..2nd half playing their favoured way towards their supporters siddal played some excellent rugby orchestrered by shaun garrod  in which they stretched away,a late 3 rd sin binning for pats summed up a miserable day for them ,game played in cool conditions which must hav been a relief for the players after Fridays baking hot day...Good look 2 pats for the rest of the season

Leigh Miners 30 v 16 Wath Brow Hornets

Leigh Miners continued their recent good run of form with a 30-16 victory against champions Wath Brow Hornets on another warm day at Twist Lane. Miners made a great start scoring early on from centre Adam Thomason out on the right to make the score 4-0, hooker Tony Doyle scored a second home try when he darted in from close range, Jonny Youds converting to make it 10-0. From the next set following the try Miners lost possession inside their own half and gift Wath Brow good field position, the Hornets taking full advantage with prop Richard Huby going over to score to give the score 10-4. The score stayed like that until the final ten minutes of the half when the excellent Martin Gray went over for a third Miners try, Youds converting as well as adding a forty yard penalty goal just before the break to give Miners a well deserved 18-4 half time lead.

The opening fifteen to twenty minutes of the second half was scrappy from both sides with both unable to get into any rhythm or build any pressure with them turning the ball over too much. All the points were scored in the final quarter of the game with Miners being first to score from Scott O'Brien, O'Brien weaving his way through a number of Hornets defenders to score near the posts, Youds adding the extras to make it 24-4. Wath Brow refused to go away and scored a quick fire double from their prop and Peter Caddy to give the score 24-16 with about ten minutes remaining. Miners managed to stop Wath Brow's momentum in the final ten minutes and finish the game with a fifth try in the last minute, Martin Gray going over for his second out on the left, Youds converting his fifth of the afternoon to give Miners a 30-16 victory and keep them in the mix for a top six spot.

Next week Miners are away to Lock Lane.
