SAM TOMKINS tonight on #MadMonday

Wigan Warriors and England's Rugby League Superstar SAM TOMKINS becomes the latest in the impressive line up of guests on Rugby AM's #MadMonday show 7-9pm every Monday on Yorkshire Radio.

The weekly show is the brainchild of DJ Alex Simmons and Leeds Rhinos Legend Keith Senior who hope to develop the concept from radio into a TV show that profiles the great game of Rugby League, its stars and blend it with banter, music and features that allows fans to connect to the great personalities in the game.

Last week Harry Potter star Matt Lewis was on the show and he said "This show is the closest thing we have to the footy show in Aus, it has the serious talk so you discuss the issues but its very light hearted and funny!!! I can't wait to see these guys on TV!!!"

This season they have married Zak Hardaker and Josh Charnley, destroyed Nick Fozzard and Sean Long with the Reds True BBQ Hot Wing Challenge and had Richard Mathers playing a spot of Naked Golf.

Show host Alex Simmons said "Its been a long journey so far, the fact the stars of the game come along and give there time up for free shows the passion the players have to promote the sport! The best thing about Rugby lads is the down to earth mentality… they really get involved with the banter! Huge thanks to Yorkshire Radio for giving us a chance… the show must be funny even Keith (Senior) laughs!"

Listen in tonight to Yorkshire Radio 7-9pm… Sam Tomkins is joined by fellow England Star… Leeds Rhinos Jamie Jones Buchanan! In what promises to be a extreme dose of Rugby chat, banter and not forgetting great music!

You can listen to Yorkshire Radio on Sky channel 0209 on DAB and online at www.yorkshireradio.net

It's the lack of notice that gets me

Just read that this station is no more. I'm genuinely gutted. Their match coverage was excellent and for my money was often far better than that of Radio Leeds.

A sad loss, they often had different live games to Radio Leeds, although it was Superleague centric, I'll miss their output.

I assume the previous shows are recorded. Maybe it might be worthwhile to sound out a few other commercial radio stations to see if they are interested in picking the show up.
