needs one of the best coaches in the world to bring 2 half teams together that never train together, play together and live 12000 miles apart, am afraid it just wont work in the wc to get instant cohesion against players from the nrl and origin unless a specialist coach is there to do the job.

I don't see your point.

Why does it matter if they don't train and play with eachother week in week out. It's the same for all the other international sides. The distance apart they are from eachother and the competition they play in is irrelevant to them gelling together.

I don't see the difference between gelling Sam Tomkins and Kevin Sinfield together than gelling Sam Tomkins and Widdop. I know there is the ETS but they are barely together as a squad anyways.

I think the total opposite. For players like Kallum Watkins, Sam Tomkins, Chris Hills having these guys (Burgess x 2/3, Graham, Widdop, Reed) coming into to the squad will be like a breath of fresh air. What could be better than bolstering your squad with players who have been bashing the Aussies and Kiwis for the whole season?

Why would they have problems gelling? They are all playing for different clubs in the NRL. It's not as is they have created some kind of clique.

I think the OP just wants to criticise McNamara.

By the way, which coach is a specialised 'bringing two sets of players from other sides of the rugby league world together' coach?

think there needs to be a separate coach within the set up to stop a "headless exiles" sort of display

Anyone that's worked at HKR in the last 15 years.
