The main problem is that a lot of people (including me) like to pay on the day. If you have already given away the "unsold tickets" then you would be turning away people with actual money to spend.

it wouldn't be for you- or me- it would be for the kids and the good of the game- its hard work on here sometimes

The "good of the game" means making money not losing money. I don't see why it's difficult to understand.

So think of a solution that brings in the kids but doesn't bankrupt the sport in the process.

The thing is that RL fans seem to think that there is a huge amount of gold bullion sitting around in Red Hall just waiting for a project whether its building a national stadium, subsidising Broncos or playing a Test match for kids who will pay nowt to get in but will require petrol money and supervision.

The reality is that the game runs on a shoestring budget and can't afford to take a loss on a match like that in the hope that there will be some long-term benefit.

Bb don't grind yourself down arguing with mr know it all, he argues for the sake of it and wouldn't acknowledge the validity of a point if his life depended on it. It's an innovative suggestion with some difficult challenges, well worth the discussion. Sometimes we need unusual ideas to break through the barriers we face, personally maybe a modified version would be good. An entire stand for an exiles game for example given over to it

Predictions for the future -
Crusaders RL to get a franchise for 2012 onwards -WRONG
Widnes Vikings also to get a franchise - RIGHT
Crusaders RL to do the double over Widnes and finish five places ahead of them -WRONG
Widnes Vikings NOT to dominate rugby league in years to come! STILL TO COME

When you finally make a good point, I'll acknowledge it.

In the meantime, the phrase you need to learn is "I was completely wrong about Crusaders perhaps I'm not as smart as I thought I was".

Indeed. Perfect for head-in-the-sands types who have a problem with reality.

the 1st game I ever saw was fev v widnes 1977 in the fog as an 9 year old, I was gripped ever since, give a kid something to call their own that has shown them unrequented respect and that kid will something back, believe it.

I'm sure but in the meantime, the game has little cash and can't afford to lose huge amounts of money in the hope that somewhere down the line there will be increased attendances.

There are arguments in favour of giving schoolkids free tickets but an entire game with no paying speccies and lots of costs is a non-starter.
