We've had 6 bad knee injuries in the last 9 years and all the players where wearing blades.

Carlsberg don't do Soldiers, but if they did, they would probably be Brits.

Easts twice led by twelve points only for IRB to twice come back and level the score and then dropped a goal to take the lead for the first time after about seventy five minutes. Easts then equalised and then took the lead with a couple of minutes, if that, to go. A draw would probably have been a fair result but a win is a win and Easts will be happy to take the two points.

At Myton today took Shadow and was very impressed with both teams. Siddal first half and Myton the second young prop was outstanding for Myton.

Skirlaugh 32 v 12 Leigh Miners

Leigh Miners suffered defeat on the road for the second successive week yesterday afternoon when they went down 32-12 at relegation threatened Skirlaugh in a game what was marred by the injury to Miners loose forward Lee Gittins who left the field with a dislocated right knee. The home side opened the scoring against the run of play with Miners attacking the Skirlaugh they lost the ball and the host went the length of the field to score, soon after the first try Skirlaugh were in again to make the score 12-0. Both teams were reduced to twelve men on the twenty minute mark when Skirlaugh's Jonny Young and Miners Jonny Youds were sin binned for fighting. Miners got themselves on the scoreboard five minutes before the break through Lee Gittins, Jonny Youds converting to make it 12-6. From the restart Miners lost the ball during the next set and from that the momentum changed from the home side being under the cosh looking to hold onto their lead to being on the front foot attacking the Miners line. Skirlaugh took full advantage of the error, scoring their third try just before the break to make the half time score 18-6.

Skirlaugh added a penalty goal early in the second half to increase their lead to 20-6 but after that Miners had a good spell of possession on the Skirlaugh line, but like last week at Lock Lane they was nowhere near creative enough and the home side easily defending what Miners threw at them. With twenty five minutes of the game to go play was stopped with Gittins being down with a dislocated knee and when play did resume after a lengthy stoppage Skirlaugh scored a quick fire double to put the game beyond Miners to lead 32-6. Gary Gittins scored a late consolation try for Miners which Youds converted to give the final score 32-12.

Next week Miners are at home to Milford Marlins in the semi-final of the Conference Challenge Trophy.

'eh I went to watch this match and I am pretty sure a forward scored the first try from Skilraugh from about 10 meters out from a kick out from goal, I remember thinking Leighs defense was very poor considering they were set up.

That apart I have to say I was very impressed with Skirlaugh, watched them four times this year and have to say they looked much improved,a very good outfit yesterday, hopefully they will retain their current form
