The 2nd hand Tamron 70-300 that I've had for the last 6 months has decided to develop a fault, in that the zoom ring is sticking. Can anyone suggest somewhere that may be able to repair it for a reasonable price and do a decent job, other than sending it back to the manufacturer?

Intro 2020 are the official repairers for UK Tamron lenses http://www.intro2020...ges/service.htm

While there are several independants who will take on Tamron repairs they will struggle to get hold of any parts as Tamron only supply Intro 2020 with spares

Best get it booked in with Intro, i had a new AF motor fitted to a Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 a couple of years ago for under £60

Bear in mind that Tamrons come with a 5 year warranty which will only be honoured if work is carried out through Intro

Cheers Gary. Intro2020 were who I was thinking of when I refered to sending it to the manufacturer, but it's good to hear someone has had a positive experience from using them. Will give them a call on Monday, as I could do with a quick turnaround as I want to take it with me to the IOM in just under 3 weeks!

Possibly so! Ideally I'd like to upgrade to a 70-200 f2.8 & a teleconverter for when required, but that isn't going to be cheap! Will send it to Intro2020 tomorrow and see what they say re repairing it whilst I save!
