well played today hawks. seems as though you wanted it slightly more today and the yellow card probably swung the game in your favour but no one to blame other thsn ourselves because thats a rudiculous foul to concede. good luck for the rest of the year and we might meet again next year.

Hands up everyone who thought we'd blown it yet again at three-quarter time ?!?!

A definite case of substance over style out there this afternoon - the three points were priceless, but boy did we do it the hard way!

The game was watchable more from the raw tension point of view rather than the quality of play; tbh we've played better and lost on several occasions this year. Two key turning points that almost certainly wrestled the game back to in our favour were the re-introduction from the bench of Yates and March (a clear MOM today), and the rather unnecessary sin-binning of Miller for interfering at a Hunslet restart, giving us a man advantage at a vital stage of the game.

Three games to go and all to play for, still can't work out how many points we need to reach safety but I suspect the losers at York next week will probably be down and out ...

The Town team contained 3 DR players from Widnes, (Briscoe is a Town player) one of the few times we have played more than 1 but as this was the 4th game of 7 in 26 days we need to use them to save our own players for other games. Well done on your win today.

I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimension, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave Hadfield - Independent 25th August 1996.

Great win & a must win. But boy did we nearly throw it away, but a big well done to the Workington winger to get sin binned.

It showed today we definitely need a centre (wilson/clayton?) or another forward on the bench. I like Brickwood & mapals as wingers but mapals was clearly exposed when moved to the centre as Workington exposed him. It would of been better to have Watson at centre & keep mapals on the wing as Watson can tackle.

Can Eaton ever move away from the plan of subbing? When workington scored their first then 2nd it was clear to everyone we needed to make changes before its too late, it wasn't till Workington took the lead & 60 minutes had passed we brought March, Yates & Houston back on to take control & luckily the Workington player got sin binned.

Roll on York next week, we have won there everytime a march has been in our team, So let's keep him bubble wrapped & try and get grimmer attacking down the left side!

Great to see Grimmer back, thought his defence really tightened the team up and hearing Micky Haley should be ok for york next week another big bonus.

Great to go in at half time without conceeding a point, especially the ones that usually come in the last few minutes of the half.

Workington came back at us led by former Hunslet favourite Jamie Thackray plus the dual reg players from Widnes. Jamie was about 18 when he made his debut for us under his mentor David Plange.

Good to see Grimmer back, I think loose forward will be his position in the future.

Not a ALL Hunslet squad yet, don't forget the Coyle brothers both on loan to us.

thought marchy was on a different level yest. He's really playing well at the min. We conceded most of our points while he was off the pitch. Best game ive seen houston gave in a while aswell. All in all I thought it was a solid workman like win yest
