Just as we have a positive thread developing why did the moderator think fit to lock it why not just take out the post that breached the Aup ( if it did )
And inform the poster that is what the role of a moderator is .
If you want people to contribute to the forum and come back then moderate it in the correct spirit not just when you as a moderator can't take a bit of banter ?

Not sure it was positive.  Not a single post in there was about the original subject either the first time when I deleted the 13 posts or the second time when John locked it.

If you want to post on a forum where being a wind-up merchant is an important attribute then the TRL forums probably aren't the right place for you.  We've left this forum for too long unmoderated and have lost a good number of posters who just wanted to post about the community game in the spirit that it was originally formed.

Having a bit of a laugh on the forums is something we hope people can do occasionally, some people interpret that as "having a laugh at others responding to my trolling" and that's not acceptable.  We do understand that rugby folk can be robust in their mannerisms, we allow that and make plenty of tolerance, we won't allow it to dominate the forum though.

Anyway, subject closed.  If you really don't like that then there's very little that further discussion will achieve as we're not going to change our moderating stance.

Arguing with the forum trolls is like playing chess with a pigeon.  No matter how good you are, the bird will **** on the board and strut around like it won anyway
