"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimension, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave Hadfield - Independent 25th August 1996.

We could only have Hulme isn't it due to number of games played?
Unsure of craven or Lawton they had a few?

Well done Town a great effort, we have done what we had to do and more, proud of the team, top of the Cumbrian 3 where we should be ;)  lets get some body's back and give it a good go in the playoffs.

That's our next problem. Will we be able to get any bodies back for next week otherwise it could be a game too far for those who played today carrying injuries.

Just digressing there but Haven used a 17 year old kid from the Academy at Lillyhall today in their team and 2 others as 18th and 19th man. Could we not try this avenue when we are struggling?

Hulme and I think Flynn are the only two that have played enough games to be able to qualify for the play offs , I will oly wish you all well for a great season when its over and its far from over yet. Batley are by no means unbeatable
