Can anyone shed any light on a story I was told about Jim Drake and a Oldham player having such a brawl that it continued in the changing rooms. Jim Drake getting a 10 match ban and only stopping when the police pulled them apart?

April 1955. Arthur Tomlinson was the name of the other protagonist. They were sent off in the 58 th minute. They continued the dispute as the hull team boarded the bus. It's in The complete history 1876- 1997. Oldham rlfc by Michael turner. Heh heh heh those were the days.

By the way we lost 5-18. Tomlinson was a second rower. That match was the 18th April. Tomlinson didn't play again 8 th Oct exactly 10 matches later. Assume he was also banned.

Unlike my own, thank you for the quick reply. A great rugby league story, not quite the same as today's game..sadly.

Do you have any ideas on what caused such a fight?
