Carlsberg don't do Soldiers, but if they did, they would probably be Brits.

We got told it was their 2nds and about 6 1st teamers may be playing, so we sent basically our 2nds including 4 brand new to the game and 6 1st team players in a 20 man squad, to put it bluntly we got shafted 70 - 0.

They did, but we took the fixture on a short notice and most of our players had other commitments, all said and done the lads who did play where impressed with Sharlston and have now been welcomed to rugby league, LOL

I think some A teams dont start for another week or wto. Some clubs, like ours, may have requested weeks off. We have first two weeks off to allow our cricketers to finish.

Same problem why there has never been a full fixture list every week (Referee's or lack of) plus requested none fixture dates, Doncaster clubs used to traditionally have the St Ledger race week off because all 10 local mines closed down for this week.

Opening games of season and a 3rd of the games not scheduled lets hope we dont have a bad winter and games called off later.

Opening games of season and a 3rd of the games not scheduled lets hope we dont have a bad winter and games called off later.

Why?

The winter season has many spare dates so all games can be fitted in and in a couple of weeks every super league game will not be taking up to 8 officials, the NCL will not be taking up to 3 officials and the refs who don't do it in the summer will compensate for the ones who don't do it in the winter, this should result in us not seeing a repeat of what happened a few weeks ago in Cumbria.

So the lack of games is mainly down to shortage of officals

I would guess it is down to officials given the NCL games are ongoing too.

We pulled 23 players for a last minute friendly at Bentley (went down 58 - 16) we had 8 players doing a tough mugger as well.
