All in danger of going a bit stale until we get some signings news. So......

Presentation Night tomorrow night ( still some tickets left, I think ) with the traditional end of season awards.

Categories are...
Coaches Player of Year
Most Improved Player
Try of the Season
Players Player of the Year
Club Person of the Year

Cant remember who won the the Coaches or the Try last season but the others were Tyler Craig, Jack Aldous and Gary Hall.
Be good to have some fans feedback....

Who would your vote go to, in each case ?

I'm not committing on the others because, but Try of the season for me.
Knights get possession on their own ten, moving the ball left, stunning pass around his man by Sam Scott releases Jack Latus out of his own 20, races into opponents half and delivers pass to winger Nathan Browne, who cuts inside to score.

Good Friday, Huntington Stadium v Featherstone Rovers.

This one is probably better. :D

Player of Year: Nicholson/Scott - both put in 100% when they played.
Most Improved Player: Brining - In the first team regularly now & good at making descions.
Tries of the Season (In no particular order):

1) Ed Smith Away at Workington - On our own 30 Carr passes out wide to Smith who runs to their 30 and passes it wide to Ben Dent (?) who then passes it back to Smith to score.

2) Tom Lineham Away at Whitehaven - Last minute of the game, grubber kick on the blindside into the corner, Tom Lineham runs from their 30 meter line and just as it is about to bounce dead, he leaps and touches it down to snatch a bonus point.

3) George Elliott Home to Keighley - On halfway, runs down the wing, weaves in and out of the Keighley defence before touching down.

4) Browne Home to Fev - See post above.

There were many more but those ones stood out.

I think George Elliott has had a cracking season . Not made many mistakes, (which you can't say about many of the team this year), he's scored some grand tries and he's also made some good clearing runs out of his own 20 metre area. He hasn't dropped many high balls and not many get passed him one on one. Put him down for Player of the Year and Most Improved Player for me.

All awards to the fans for sticking with it throughout this tortuous season.

Press Player of the Year will also now be presented on Friday night. The way the points-scoring worked out before last week, Sam Scott and Jack Lee as the top two. It's not a foolproof system for working out a POTY but i'd say they were my top two as well. Nicholson would be up there but missed too much of season. Sully also wouldn't be too far away but he missed a few games too.

Having seen the replay, I don't think it was a try :P
