Due to the complexity of the playoff system would it be easier for
1-8
2-7
3-6
4-5

Week 2
Highest rank winner plays lowest ranked winner
Eg. 1-5
2-3

Week 3

Final

All games are not shared gate then you are rewarded for finishing higher up the league with gate receipts

Or let league winners go straight to the final then winning the league would really mean summat and maybe there might have been 5000 at last Wednesdays game;

Sorry jt, as much as your proposal is good......it's far too straightforward for the RFL. You'll need to come up with something much more complicated to interest the powers that be. ;)

No coach would want so many weeks off.

What's wrong with 1 v 4, 2 v 3 and a final ?

I'd have 2 v 3, winners to meet 1 in final. In recent years would keep those inconsistent clubs in fourth place or lower from sneaking an undeserved spot in the final :-)

This game on Sunday is a dead rubber as far as we go ? if we beat Leigh are they out of it or not, I find it all very confusing

Should be 1 v 8 and so one like the old format for the NRL play offs.....and each week the 2 lowest ranked losing teams are eliminated

The current system where the top 4 play each other and are all safe is a bit rubbish really.

If we win we get a week off and Leigh play next week against one of the winning teams from 4th to 8th.

So the only thing up for grabs is a week off really.......if it goes to form we'll win and have a week of then play leigh at home again the week after  :(

Not just a week off but also a home tie in week 3 if the 'rules' are as stated:

Week 1
Qualifying play-offs

1st placed club v 4th placed club (winner advances to Week 3, loser home in Week 2)
2nd-placed club v 3rd-placed club (winner advances to Week 3, loser home in Week 2)
Elimination play-offs
5th-placed club v 8th-placed club (winner away in Week 2, loser eliminated)
6th-placed club v 7th-placed club (winner away in Week 2, loser eliminated)

Week 2
Preliminary semi-finals
Highest ranked Qualifying play-off losing club (1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th) v Lowest-ranked Elimination play-off winning club (5th, 6th, 7th or 8th) (winner away in Week 3, loser eliminated)

Lowest ranked Qualifying play-off losing club (1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th) v Highest-ranked Elimination play-off winning club (5th, 6th, 7th or 8th) (winner away in Week 3, loser eliminated)

Week 3
Qualifying semi-final 1
Highest-ranked Qualifying play-off winning club v Lowest-ranked Preliminary semi-final winning club (Winner to Grand Final, loser eliminated)
Qualifying semi-final 2
Lowest-ranked Qualifying play-off winning club v Highest-ranked Preliminary semi-final winning club
(Winner to Grand Final, loser eliminated)

Week 4
Kingstone Press Championship Grand Final
Winner Qualifying semi-final 1 v Winner Qualifying semi-final 2
.

That's true.  Halifax will be at home if they play us in  week 3, despite them finishing below us in the table.

Which is different from past years.
