Actually the comma goes inside the inverted commas/speech marks. Only a "prat" who can't actually spell 'the' would fail to recognise that.

Glad to see you and your questionable grammar drummed out of our great game once and for all. And I don't care who that upsets.

Suddenly you're Michael Gove now. I see which way the wind's blowing.

Actually, you appear to be based in America too.

Potty, you are an even bigger prat then I first thought.  Excuse the spelling.

How can you defend him? Do you realise he once misused an apostrophe in his own name!! A mate of mine reckons he also uses semi colons when he's meant to use colons.

I dread to think how illegible his resignation letter must've been. Probably written in crayon.

Methinks some clubmates' banter has been misunderstood in this thread......

Indeed - it's probably time to get back on topic.

The Midlands League has come and gone, but I've always got my runners-up plaque from the Bolsover and District Sports Awards. They can't take that off me.

I hope you didn't get it for spelling.

Sorry, back on topic now ;)

I wonder if Bearman will unignore me now? If not I've got free rein to say what I want about his spelling too.

They gave you "a sticky deposit on your teeth in which bacteria proliferate"?

There's not much money in Bolsover.

Incidentally, "plaquer" is the French for "to tackle", as in a rugby tackle. It literally means "to flatten", which is why a plaque is the word in English for a flat plate, as well as the nasty stuff on your teeth.
