Stuart has quit Eels and gone to Raiders.

So will Cowboys  dumped coach Neil Henry (whose team got into the top eight) go for and get the Eels job?

Stuart goes to Raiders after a disastrous year at Eels and yet he's the man for the capital side.

Massively over-rated coach

Inherited a top class Roosters team, won the premiership with them then they started to drop down the table following year

Went to Sharks - did nothing there

Went to Eels -0 2 wooden spoons, plus the biggest joke of them all totally F**ks the squad by axing 11 players who all find new clubs, some quality players mind like Reni Matuia, Ben Roberts etc, then doesn't stay around to rebuild them.

Get bets in now for Raiders wooden spoon next season

Agree with this - he is living on past glories - poor record with Eels, Sharks and NSW (also last couple of years at the Rooster were poor) - thought Raiders would have pulled out all the stops to get Big Mal instead of him!!!

No coach, no full-time chief executive and no major sponsor for the 2014 season - how did it all go so wrong for repeat wooden spooners Parramatta?

Less than five years ago, the Eels were riding the crest of a Jarryd Hayne-inspired wave all the way to the grand final.

Now, the one-time NRL heavyweights are searching for their seventh coach in as many years after Ricky Stuart walked out after less than 12 months to take up a three-year deal with Canberra on Wednesday night.

"I didn't ask for this opportunity to present itself but it has and I know I am getting criticised," Stuart told the Ten Network.

"But I'll wear that for the the sake of my career and for my family."

Interim CEO Matt Phelan admitted the Eels were caught off guard by Stuart's exit as he'd assured them he'd be in charge next year.

Eels can do better than him.

I expect he'll go to Raiders and expect loyalty and commitment from all their players and staff there.

Sticky = Cast iron proof that being a good player does not mean you can be a good coach :P

Stuart reckons he's been 'assassinated' over his move. An extreme word to use!

Still he was not exactly treating players gently when at the beginning of June he told at least 12 first graders that they were not wanted. Seems like he's dismantled a team and then quit without seeing the re-building through.

Not nice.
