Great player to lose there was a nightmare watching him against haven as good as any forward I seen last season and that includes the DR we had

From the league express it seems that Liam McAvoy is on his way he will be an Excellant signing for the club

It looks like we're In for a bit of upheaval Beiscoe and Acton are gone Carter seems odds on to leave and there are rumours of other departures that will leave a big hole to fill

It's always sad to see a good player leave, especially to one of our opponents in the same league, but good luck to Jamie, I am sure that one day he will be a SL player. I don't know what the financial benefit was but not having to travel up here must have also come in to the equation for him. Leigh are certainly putting together quite a strong pack of forwards which isn't bad for a club that were apparently on their "uppers" not that long ago!!!!

I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimension, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave Hadfield - Independent 25th August 1996.

I've just had a look at the Leigh site and the 3 top signings to make up a 'formidable pack ' are soon to be complimented by signings to get an equally good back line ... Erm what a turnaround in fortunes ( literally !!! ) . How ? As Fred Dineage might say .

It has been getting asked on here for a few weeks now as to where is Brett Carter. It's like the Derwent Park triangle where players mysteriously go missing and are never heard of again!!!

If there are rumours of others leaving then we need to balance that up soonest with news of others coming in or else more will move on as well.

Yes for all the swings n roundabouts Thacks still has enough xfactor left , and he finished strongly ... And if our front row is gonna have two or three young uns in next year he'd be a handy older head with them . If so I'd like to see him add a stone to get back to optimum barnstorming weight !!! The Walne brothers would be key acquisitions for me , Jordan the starch in the defence and tough yards and Adam the strong but skilful Acton like prop who has the ability to play wide to . Don't know anything about Mcavoy but he gets good write ups in the academy set up and looks a bit like James Graham ... Owt like him will do !!
