It will be interesting to see if JK can achieve what others have failed to do and make VF a good player. He had a couple of games for the Rams this season and didn't impress at all - his defensive positioning was quite awful. However he did play for Sheffield against us and scored an excellent try so, as I say, his progress will be interesting.

I work with an Eagles fan. He's sad to see him go. Just couldn't get in ahead of Turner and Taulapapa.

If a top coach like Mark Aston rates him highly enough to include him in two Grand Final winning squads, then he'll do for me - despite a couple of dodgy performances for Dewsbury.

Brambani broke no pots at Dewsbury either or Patch Walker for that matter! I think the Batley hordes will make there own assessment on goodtime ;)

I'm absolutely gutted, can't fault him though, a lad like him needs regular first team outings, you have got a gem, we didn't play him every game, same goes for Colton Roche who is joining Fev.......

Taking into account rumours/mis-information etc how's this for a starting 17. Greenwood, Campbell, Faal, Chandler/Ashall, Finnegan, Black, Leatherbarrow, Smith, Nicholson, Rowe, Davies, Manning/Scott, Applegarth. bench Leek, Bretherton + 2.

Phildog, you need to give up on this Manning fixation!

I think your source may be a bit unreliable ,,,

Yep. Getting even more tedious than the Ashall/Patterson speculation and the ENDLESS posts about signings for next season.

No disrespect to the lad, but he's no flyer either - strong lad but he isn't going to score many long range tries.

He's scored plenty of tries for Eagles.  Good winger, good kid, just disappointed that we couldn't keep him happy.

The name's Finigan, by the way.  Unusual spelling.

I think the best (modern) winger is a combination of pace and power aka JC, Johnson, Mcgilvery. Where I think pace is important is the fullback

I understand that Manning had added a year to his contract at Fax a while ago, and Batley are not in a position to buy out said contracts, even after the ''windfall'' from the Final. Also I can't see that Ashall will be added to the squad, neither will Patterson. There seems to be a fixation will Halifax here Phildog. Ashalll in particular was quoted in the Rugby papers yesterday that the offer from Halifax didn't meet his requirements, so he certainly aint gonna get it at Batley, I wouldn't have thought.

WHERE DO YOU WANT ME TO SWIPE THIS?

Don't waste your breath Colin, it seems that no matter how many times Phildog is told that Dane Manning will not be returning for 2014 (along with the various explanations as to WHY not), he's pretty insistent on perpetuating the rumour. For the final time Phil - he's NOT signing for 2014. He was asked multiple times on Sunday evening by Batley supporters, and he replied in the negative. Hope that cures your fixation, Phil.

In JK we must trust - he cant be worse than Danny Mills.

Welcome aboard Vinny.

Looking forward to more signing announcements soon.
What we're dealing with here is a complete lack of respect for the law

Chandler at centre, he's advertised as a centre/2nd rower. If Scott is a 2nd rowman and not a centre then he has to play in the pack which leaves only centre for Chandler, unless Brev (I understand he's said yes) goes in there. At least we have a decent start on the bench as well.

I imagine we'll have at least 9 players arriving to cover our outgoings. Absolutely pointless speculating about a XVII until we know who they are.
