The Cardiff experience in particular was terrible running out of beer in advance of the 2nd half of game one.

The reason for this, I'm sure, were the Australian contingent who we were sat next to. It was like a group pancreatitis experiment.

Wowza! Maybe 70k is a possibility.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

It is. Hope the RFL get the message out about the print at home. It's now never too late to buy.

With a bit of a push in London over the next few days we should easily top 70k. There already seems to be reasonable awareness amongst sports fans (or Union fans anyway) down here, and that's with barely any marketing in the area.

Might well nudge 70000 if they're flogging 2000 a day.

That'll let Shotgun tell us about a total attendance of 500,000.

Shaping up to be a special afternoon.

Just need those 10,000 folks who refused to support an England team containing Rangi Chase to finally leg it down to the ticket office! ;)

The ticketing site really isn't helping!

In the 6 sections highlighted as for sale you cannot get 2 tickets together.

I suspect casual sports fans would just forget about it and assume it is sold out.

Dare I suggest that you mucking about with the site won't make things any easier for those hoping to make a purchase?

Yeah its not great- I just found out I could get 2 together (using the best seats option) for sale in the areas that are sold out...not intuitive at all

Try the block just to the east of the last 'open' block in the upper tier - it's grey but clickable!

At this point they should leave it at number of tickets and price band via best seats option, ie  want 2 @£60 but the only 2 together are at £30 say so as the only option for seats and stop the nutters filling the baskets

I went to the Millennium opener but I can't make the Wembley one. As such, I was just hoping that whoever goes MAKES SOME NOISE. There will be tens of thousands of people there who are unfamiliar with the game, and it would be great if they got a great experience and good impression of RL.

I'll be shouting at the telly, if it helps.

There are around 23k tickets still to sell and you are worried about Dave T sticking 6 in his basket? The ticket site is now being far too overcautious. There needs to be another 4-6 blocks open. It will put people off.

I agree, open up a few more now. Seeing how well we've already done, I'd rather see a patchy couple of blocks up in the gods and banners covering the 100% empty areas, than a nice neat cut off at each end when we could have got more people in!
