As we are getting closer to the RLWC and considering the majority of it is going to be played in November when the weather can be a little on the wetside, It led me to recall earlier in this season when we had some inclement weather and some of the handling on show was lets say a little iffy. We were informed that it was the fault of the shape and weight of the new ball that had been adopted by RFL as it was not aerodynamic and made it difficult to catch when passed, and also when put up as a bomb it spiraled and came down multi-directional.

If we are to use "our ball" would that be an advantage to us, as we are more familiar with it, and lets be fair, any one who has watched much NRL this season will be fully aware that they are masters of the kick to the corner for the wingers/center's, we are not bad at this skill but only half as good as they are and it is a potent weapon of theirs. so If we are to use their ball, is it an advantage to them?

I would also like to be a little controversial with a suggestion that we should reduce the points of scoring a try resulting directly from a kick from 4 to 3 or 2, to encourage more handling, I remember back in the seventies when there was multiple attempts at drop goals throughout the game and they were reduced to 1 point to encourage more handling and that worked fine.
