Fiji v Samoa on paper is the closest call.

It should be a very physical and speedy contest.

Enjoy the game TM

Cheers G - yeah, it should be a good 'un. Favouring the Samoans slightly because my wife actually met some of them yesterday. She won a competition in the local paper organised by Getthelabel.com to have afternoon tea with some of the Samoan squad, and yesterday she went to the Village Hotel where they're based here in Warrington, and had tea and cakes with about 8 of the squad. Because of work I couldn't make it, so I'm more than a little jealous of her!!!

They were a very nice bunch of lads by all accounts, and they had a very good appetite. Apprently they've got through over a 1000 chicken legs during their stay at the hotel. Sia Soliola wasn't there at first, and my wife had hoped to meet him. Apparently he was in his room playing Fifa 14 on the Xbox!!! When the lads had finished, they went off and got Sia to come down and she got to meet him. She got loads of photos and they all signed one of those Try/No Try cards they hand out at the games.

Theres a pic on the Getthelabel.com twitter page:-

How great is that?!!!!

Congratulations to her and I can see why you're likely to favour them now.

It looks like they are staying in a nice place.

Looking forward to going down to Wembley on Saturday. The England NZ game could be a classic. Hopefully the Fijians can put up a good performance against the Aussies. Uate certainly looked impressive in the game against the Samoans yesterday.

I bet Petero Civoniceva will be looking forward to his retirement. We noticed yesterday that he had plenty of time on the field - I bet he hasn't played as many minutes for years!!!

Cheers RF. Never been since they rebuilt it - the 1999 CC Final was my last trip. I have been booked to go down on 2 occasions since, but the first time the trains went all to pot, and 2nd time my wife was in hospital having a cyst removed. Hopefully I'll make it on Saturday!!!

NZvEng

How close was that?!!!!!!

What a great game worthy of any World Cup semi-final.

Enjoyed the game. great to see a really competitive game - there were no real losers there.

I expect the next game AusvFiji won't be anything like that.

Kiwis will have worked a lot harder to get to the final than the Green and Golds.

Vossy is a great commentator.

Wembley was fantastic, bar the result (so close but a fantastic game) and the weather - I haven't been that cold at a match in years - double headers in November are not a good idea!!! Anyhow, I'm off to Old Trafford on Saturday where I'll be cheering on the Kiwis. I've just got this funny feeling that the likes of Smith, Cronk, Slater, Gallen etc., will be motivated by the fact this will probably be their last chance at winning the WC for Australia before they hang up their boots.

Winner - Australia

HT - Aus 10 NZ 8

FT - Aus 23 NZ 22

First to score - NZ (Manu if he's fit)

Great event - final was too one sided to be a classic, but the whole thing was beautifully organised and everyone performed with skill and dignity.

Looking back you have to say the best team in the comp won it.

Australia were deserved winners.

The final would have been spiced up if England had got there with 70 odd thousand voices behind them.

Still that wasn't to be.

Kiwis never looked in it though they deserved at least a consolation try - which never came.

Australia's defence was once more superb and their attack devastating.

Great competition, well run and supported.

Congratulations to Australia, World Cup Winners 2013
