Yeah it's Jim Reilly and Henry Clunie out of the original SLF. I didn't know they were playing though

What are your brothers band called?

I don't think it would get past the swear filter. It rhymes with luckwits.

He named his band after you and Dukey?

So that's what he meant when he said we were an inspiration...

You ever seen XSLF, mate? My brother's band were supporting them in Batley on Friday.

I am going to see these next Friday in Leeds. Don't suppose your brothers band are playing this time?

I'm sure I'll be speaking to him in the next couple of days. I'll ask him.

They've got a couple of gigs supporting 999 in Stockton and Gateshead next weekend.

XSLF were really good last night. I couldn't imagine seeing the fingers without Jake Burns singing but the music made up for it. Proper stripped back stuff, it was exactly like seeing them back in 79/80. Really small venue too -brilliant night.

Subhumans this Thursday at Vampire in Bradford. Not seen them for absolutely years. They once played in the Vaults Bar in 1983, which was a hangout for local biker gang Satans Slaves. Let's just say it was scary.

There's loads but it all depends what sort of music you are into. There's certainly no shortage of new bands playing live, in many musical genres.

I'm into rock music Johnoco but i'd prefer to see a band writing their own stuff ...............also any guitar band music............

Did the own material/chasing the record deal back in my yoof. Happy enough to do covers these days, also we have noticed that as soon as we say "this is one we wrote" you get people calling fag time and a general lack of interest. Particularly in the pub scene.

You need to write songs whose intros sound a bit like something famous. Then by the time they realise it's one of your own, hopefully they'll be enjoying the song anyway. ;)
