Channel 7 has announced all games in the rugby league world cup will be televised live on 7 Mate and all games will be repeated the following day on 7 Mate as well. A lot better coverage than channel 9 ever gave us.

Yes,the last World Cup coverage was appalling, Mad Mal was over here following England,we went to the GF in Brisbane, but he couldn`t believe why he had to wait to see the Group games on Channel 9 almost at midnight. Well done Channel 7.

Hmm ? Just checking out my 'early Sunday' Austalia v England - Wales v Italy

And the 'commentary team' listed for both ? Ryan Phelan , Matt King

Will make an interesting 'voice over' from the Sky muppets :onthequiet:

Why the voice over though?

One of the great things about watching oversees RL is getting the full flavour, game , commentary and all from that country.

Don't know what coverage, if any Sky have. It's all - every game - being covered here by Premier Sports. It'll be interestiong to see how they cover it in terms of commentary.

Hang on, I've just thought to look on their site.

Here's what we are getting in the UK:

Premier Sports are delighted to announce the capture of high profile Australian commentator Andrew Voss for this autumn’s Rugby League World Cup.

Voss who has called many thrilling games in a high profile 27 year career, ranks the 2000 classic World Cup final between Australia and New Zealand as his highlight.

“I'm thrilled to be heading up the commentary team on Premier Sports. From the tournament opening in Cardiff, right through to the final, we are going to witness a festival of rugby league.

From the north of England, to London, Ireland, Wales and the south of France, we are sure to be thoroughly entertained.”

Complementing the Australian, will be Premier Sports regular Championships commentators Dave Woods and Ian Ramsdale.

Expert analysis will come from an equally impressive international line up of Brian Noble, Daryl Halligan and Robbie Hunter-Paul.

Premier’s live coverage of all 28 games begins with the broadcast of the opening ceremony from the Millennium Stadium on the 26th Oct 2013 at 1.30pm.

Throughout the tournament, Premier’s stalwarts David Woods and Andrew Henderson will be featuring and to complete the line up, pitch side reporting, team news and interviews will be provided by Natalie Quirk and Kate Bennett.

So here we've got Andrew Voss and then some regular  Premiers Sports team members in Dave Woods and Brian Nobel  plus Ian Ramsdale (who as well as doing some PSTV commentary does a radio RL show for the south of England and Wales; Daryl Halligan is a Kiwi legend who played for  North Sydney, Doggies and NZ. Robbie Paul is a likeable and knowledgeable ex player and respected analyst of the game

Wouldn't want NRL to go back to Sky unless like PSTV they showed every game, the finals including GF and every other RL game they could get hold of. Premier Sports value the game and see it central to their portfolio. They have added more and more RL as time has gone by. Nobody is perfect, and Championship fans have grumbled about some of the coverage. Taking all things into account though Prem Sp gets the thumbs up from me.

We do - it's called a tipping competition. Plus won't there be a rugby league console game to play somewhere?

SO............... At midnight on the 26th I watched LOTS of ad breaks - tiny flashes to the opening ceremony,(?)

And chit chat between Ryan Phelan , Matt King .

Got the PS commentators for the game, with a return to OZ for the half.

I'm guessing Phelan & player from whatever country will be the deal for the games ?
