The group format eating into what should have been league territory was a waste of time , but I thought the format this year was spot on . A straight knock out for Championship clubs , whereas the groups supplemented games for Champ 1 . It didn't take much time up and was something to play for .They got it right at last then dumped it ... Where have we heard that before ?

That's the old format . The new one was the odd weekend after the season had started . It was no burden and one or two kind draws could get you into a semi or final , which any fan likes . Especially considering how SL have advanced so far to make the Challenge Cup not worth much for the rest .

The Ike southward trophy is always a great encounter but we could have a Cumbria cup with the 3 teams for revenue and also charity too surly sellafield or somebody else would get behind it, could even have the Cumbrian teams in the national leagues involved with the chance of a big day out at then end of it and the Carla league winners and cumbria cup winners involved
Who would there be?
Town
Jam
Barrow
Wath Brow
egremont
Milliom
Maryport
Walney

8 teams quarters
Then semis and a final!!

Just a thought

That's a great idea. When does the amateur season start up again?

Why not have a tri series....Town,Haven and Barrow...play eachother once and the 2 winning sides play the final... GB,AUS and NZ have done it.

apparently not so. Of their main amatuer targets One has turned them down and one is undecided.
