with the northern rail cup not being held next season, and the resulting loss of valuble home games...is there anything stopping us,rochdale, swinton & leigh organising our own little pre season comp?

group of 4 ,3 home & 3 away games plus a final..

sounds like a winner to me...

You are light years in front of CH and in fact The RL with your thinking ...... so now down to jus a few home fixtures . . .  a big problem may be keeping the players interested   . . . . .

Good idea this one, keeps a bit of interest with all local derbies, perhaps expand it slightly in the vein of the old trans pennine cup and have a Yorkshire group as well with say York,Hunslet, and two other lower clubs? Create a bit of inter-county interest maybe? Also for the clubs in the Champ and Champ 1 divisions as an alternative to the NRC play the Lancs/Yorks cup competitions, those seem to have gone by the wayside in recent years. The cups are "redundant" at the moment so it would create some interest if there was a "proper" cup at stake for the lower divisions surely, play it in a similar format to the NRC. Cant see how the RFL can justify scrapping the NRC especially after the "bowl" comp was the only realistic silverware for most of the cc1 clubs last season. Its another RL farce. Some hair brained scheme will be dreamed up no doubt by the pro SL RFL.
